My Diamond Jubilee has one flaw I'd really like to address. When I got it, its plug had been replaced by one from the hardware store; the original moulded-on plug was missing.

I have a couple of 1205 cordwinders in my parts stash, and unless I'm mistaken, that's the same cordwinder in a different colour. Can I transfer the cord from one of those to the cordwinder in the Diamond Jubilee?

Thanks in advance for any advice. I'm particularly interested in performing the surgery safely, without getting zapped by any springs.

cord

the cords can be changed on the cord winders but the the wire size is ditternt. the older luxes have a 18/2 cord the newer supper J and up use a 17/2 cord. do to higher amp motors.

Thanks!

You just saved me a real hassle with that info. I wouldn't have known the difference, and might have created a problem for myself. I guess I need to leave well enough alone until I find the correct cord. Again, I really appreciate it.
