My grandma asked me if I could fix two Electrolux Silverado’s for her friend so said yes at that time I had no clue what I was working with. My mom brought them home with the power heads and one hose . They were really gross the brush roll was full of her hair and at some time someone else had them apart and lost some of the screws . The newer one needs a switch . How old are they I think the one with the stickers on the top is older it has a similar motor to what’s in my 1205 .

The Silverado was around in the early-mid '80s (circa '82-'84?) but they're pretty much identical to the Super J and Olympia One before them and not all that different from the Diamond J that came after them. They're pretty easy to work on. No special tools needed and no circuit boards to trip you up. Just I'm clear, are you planning to repair both machines or are you going to use one machine as a parts donor to repair the other?

I got hold of a Silverado a couple of years ago that was a complete basket case, right on the cusp of being better off as a parts donor. Like yours, it needed a switch and I put one from an Olympia into it. The missing screws are hardware store items--nothing proprietary there. I even replaced the swivel caster with one off the shelf from Lowe's.

Good luck with your project and let us know if you run into specific questions.

I fixed one of them and I’m getting parts for the other one

And my grandma said she has three more vacs and her sister has some too so I have a lot of repairing to do when I get them .

This is funny...

Grandma sends two for repair, with three more in the wings. Your great-aunt has a few also to send. Are they selling these on ebay or other, lol. If so I hope they're cutting you in on the profits or that one of them bakes a mean cherry pie!
