Last weekend at a thrift shop, I noticed a Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled. It was the later version with the turbo brush stored with no plastic cover up front.
I've seen this model in the metallic blue, silver and alien green, but this one wasn't any of those, it was a metallic red. Seems to be a less common color, I don't see any on YouTube or Ebay.

It was the top model with self propelled, dirt sensor, brush shutoff lever, etc. And it had the sticker on the front with rated #1 by consumer magazine.

Anyone seen this one before? I may go back and get it... but they wanted $12 for it. It was missing all the attachments except the wands, and the bag compartment looked somewhat dusty. It had a Febreeze Y bag in it.

I've been looking for a later Windtunnel and I've passed up a couple blue ones that were more expensive. Like I need anymore vacuums!

Well unfortunately it appears to have sold! Now I will never know what it was, but I seriously cannot find any picture of a metallic red later model self propelled Windtunnel existing. I guess I'll never know.

Well it’s more purple, but this?
There is a red older self propel on eBay with the attachments in the front case.

Hoover did remake the classic windtunnels fully maxxed out with all the doodads equipped back on the early 2010's. It might have been one of those. My rule is if a vacuum looks unusual or unique to me - grab it.

So it looked like the Hoover U6485900 but it was red ?

Yes, just like that blue version, but in a red. Not the dark maroon like Kieran's pic but a metallic sort of light red.

I know the earlier models are nicer as far as the colors, I like how the tools and bumper are in coordinating beige colors. But the later versions I just like for some reason. It may be the looped handle. They remind me a lot of the Kenmore Progressive Direct Drives from the same era.

And you're right I should have gotten it then and there. I was a bit uncertain and it's mainly because I've already gotten two vacuums this year and I'm in the middle of cleaning up another I got last year. I was thinking how much it would cost to complete the missing tools and that sort of put me off it too.

Interesting, I can't find anything on garnet metal either. I wish I had at least gotten a picture.

There seems to have been a light lavender variant also, that had white graphics and says "Breathe Easy" on the bag door for some reason.

I also, did not know that there appear to be two variants of that metallic blue one. The first one, had 5 height adjustment markings, a window indicator with a marker that shows if the brush is on or off. It also has a cover over the turbo tool. The later version doesn't have any of those things.

They also seemed to change the dusting brush from the earlier style (which also has the Hoover logo) to a different one that I think may be a Dirt Devil design. I don't like it as much.

Also the thing about retailer specific makes sense. I know earlier on, there was a specific model sold at Home Depot that was orange and said Farrington on it.

I remember someone here, briannc, bought the green model at Sam's Club back then. I don't know if that was a retailer specific either.
