ReBuilding the Ejector

Hi Folks!
Well, Im finally going to re-build my Lx Ejector this winter. Stupid me, I misplaced the old line from the ejector. What size opening should the line be?

When the bag fills and there is a difference in the suction between the front opening and the bag chamber, the vacuum inside the bag chamber is enough to open the control valve (since there is not an equal amount of suction on both sides of the diaphragm in the control valve) allowing vacuum into the chamber going to the diaphragm. The diaphragm is then pulled down which thru a rod assembly drops the pin that goes into the bag chamber under the bag chamber rod assembly. This opens the front of the vacuum which shuts off the power (by means of the two projecting metal tabs that slide forward with spring pressure and push the switch to the off position) and then a moment later releases the pusher assembly to push the bag out of the chamber.

Explaining the ejection process.

Hi Andy:

Merry Christmas, I believe I directed you to the thread Lux 30/XXX tools in the vintage archives I thing the exact date was January 3, 2013. It's a very long thread and may take time to upload all the pictures. At any rate, go to reply 107 (I told you it was a lng thread!) aeoliandave has posted the patents for several prototypes, and the explination in what's called 'patent-speak,' long, and complicated, but the complete explination by the engineers on how the machine works, especially the ejector. It's an awsome read, though can be dull and boring, patentspeak usually is. And if you read the thread, somewhere in there is my explination(not in patentspeak, but everyday langage) I suggest you spend time reading the entire thread as it's a wealth of information from all of us who love the model LX.

Here's a picture of me here in Pennsylvania. This was taken the day we put the tree's up (two weeks ago.) I'm calling this a snowless Christmas as it was 60+ this morning, and more like the Christmas's I spent in San Diego. Actually I'm loving this.

Merry Christmas, Alex! Ill make sure to look there. I love those trees you have! We use artificial. doesnt look as good but its nice as its 'fuller'

These trees were cut on the farm I live on. A far cry from the Charlie Brown tree we had a few years ago which is shown here. As that one came from the woods we thought it was a lot fuller, then we got it set up. Scrawny. That year I was struggling with weight issues, and I look like a beached whale, also the lights reflected in my dog's eyes. And yes, I'm still heavy but slimming down, been on a serious diet for two years, and still roller coaster.

This year, we've sellected better trees, from another part of the farm, they're nice and full, holding the orniments so well.

As to the Electrolux, I see in the pictures you posted that there's some tubbing to the ejector, that's the dimentions you need. I've been using my model LX on a daily basis, and loving it. Of course for the thick area rugs I haul out the Kirby Classic III.
