Within the past couple of days, there have been to rare Dirt Devils on craigslist. It's a little weird to me because they are the same model except one has black writing and the other has white. They are Dirt Devil Deluxes. What I thought was funny about one of them is that someone called it a dustbuster vacuum! Anyways, should I buy them or are they priced too high?

$9 one looks nicer. Didn't know they were rare. I see a lot of them in the goodwills. All sorts of variations of them.

Don't go mocking him just yet...
Something maybe rare to someone else other than you, depending on the area you live in. I know that in my area, any 1990's Dirt Devil is very uncommon to come by...

i agree with vacman117....

those early dirt devils are hard to find here to....i remember them from my childhood before royal really killed the name and the really junky DD's were produced in the late 90's....those delux and the direct air upright plus were not bad machines. and also those machine are pushing 15 years .....not to long and they'll be vintage to.....and i never thought that day would come....but time does move on....and think, when the dirt devils were new those 15 years ago....the late 80's and mid 80's hoover were just getting to be vintage.....and ive heard that some of the original VCCC member were having a fit cause plastic based convertibles and concepts, and decade 80s and such things were not vintage, much like some of yall on this subject.....but that day cam for them...and it will for us young people who grew up in the early 90's....

Very true.

Those Early 90s Dirt Devils are quiet rare over here as well.
I do wonder from time to time what some one who is growning up now will be after when they are older 10,15,20 years from now.
So what I'm seeing lots of now in my shop will be hard to find 20 years from now more than likely.

I guess the reason DD vacuums are "rare" is they had short lives and were made to be "dumpster" vacs.So after their life-they are thrown out and replaced with another one or an inexpensive vac of a diffrent brand. The dark blue "DD Pro" were heavier duty machines and lasted longer.

I want to buy the $9 one because it looks like it's in mint condition. And I've also been searching for one of those for quite awhile. It would be a great addition to add to my collection of 90's Dirt Devils. Does anyone know if the Dirt Devil Deluxe in the second link I posted is more rare because it has black writing or is the one with white writing more rare?
