Hmm

I thought brush rolls were not on vacuums until 1930s. This is obviously 1916 vacuum. This should go for quite a bit.

Authentic, indeed. I am not totally sure if the agitator is original, but that is beside the point
Murray Spangler put an agitator on the original sweeper back in 1907, so it makes sense for this "child" of his original to have it. Where the term Brushroll really came from, I'm not sure.

Hmm

I was reading my prior posts. I came across one made about my pa geier hand vacuum. Jeff mentioned rotating brush roll was invented in 1937. I guess that is where idea came from
Im guessing brushes attached to a roller rotating in 360% rotation. This is a brush not rotating in such a fashion. It is still amazing how far advanced this vacuum was.

I dont see how this is any different, as it has bristles on it and rotates 360 degrees.
The original spangler sweeper had a section of broom handle with goats hair bristle stapled to it and rotated 360 degrees while in use. And that one comes from 1907. Are you saying the term "brushr
oll" was coined in 1936?
