I have a rainbow e2 Gold. Along with aquamate 2.

I recently deep cleaned my grout and tile using hydrochloric acid to clean up the grout and tile- it’s night and day difference. I did use the aquamate 2 to scrub a little and basically rinse the tile, it did alright picking up but the floor was pretty wet- hence the system was used for carpeting.

I could get a tile and squeegee along with the squeegee adaptor, but I’m curious if rainjet is any easier to use or if the aquamate 3 would do better. I just want to keep my tile looking clean.

The

Models of aquamate only work with specific models.
If you go to rainvac.com you should be able to see if using a different aquamate is possible.

Given how expensive the Rainbow is, and given how corrosive Hydrochloric acid is, do you really think that is a good idea?

Lesinutah,

Perhaps we are reading things differently. My understanding is that he poured a solution containing hydrochloric acid (HCl) / muriatic acid on the tile floor and grout, and he used the Rainbow's aquamate to scrub, rinse, and clean up the solution, dirt, grime, etc. Certainly, it's not clear how much he is picking up, and how much water is diluting the HCl solution. HCl is highly reactive, which makes it good for cleaning the tile and grout. Rainbow recommends only using their cleaning products in the machine.

I assume if he is using store bought spray-on stuff on the floor, along with using the Rainbow to wash and rinse, I think it would not be strong enough to cause any serious damage. If it is full on industrial strength cleaner and he's putting it directly into the Rainbow, I do not think that would be wise. It will eat through the tubing (all of it) and possibly affect the motor from the vapors.

I have a Rainbow D series (D3?) that someone thought would be cool to clean up racing fuel in a go-kart garage, suffice to say that did not end well for the Rainbow (kaboom). I saved it, but she will need a lot of work, and the racing fuel smell on it is noxious so I had to leave it in my garage.

Maybe

I'd you read his post it's pretty vague and doesn't specify much. He use hypochondriac acid. He used aqua mate to rub and rinse tile.
I agree using a rainbow with the acid as a solution spray or sucking it up is very dumb. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.
