Can the Rainbow AquaMate III be used with a Rainbow D4 SE Performance Edition? It would seem as though it would work as the performance edition uses the new style power nozzle.

No - because you need the E style electric hose that is approved for wet pickup which came out with the blue series Rainbow that will fit all E series machines, but none prior to that.

And I suppose you wouldn't want to be jimmy rigging anything dealing with water and electricity... What a disappointment. I will have to search for an e series two speed on eBay then. I don't want the one speed if I get an e series.

I know that you can fix the handle to make it designed for wet pickup, but I wasn't aware you could do that with a pre-E series hose. But the only thing they did to make the hose approved for wet pick up was put some sort of seal in the handle, so it's all in the handle, not the hose itself.

Hmmm. Hopefully someone that knows for sure will say something. I guess I don't have to give up hope yet :)

If anyone knows, goodvac would know. Just ask goodvac.com a question and they usually answer. They know pretty much everything about Rainbow & Kirby.

YES

I know lots of parts, but I learned needing new parts after I brought handle wet pick up kit but not much parts. I just needed trigger switch, trigger handle thats it. I didn't get switch cover because they didn't have at that time. If you gonna get parts I recommend u use electrical tape on hose & wand when u install the wand to hose so u don't have air leak or water leak. :D

I was thinking u all don't need buy wet pick up handle and all extra parts. I have a better idea. use your wet pick up hose and strap with Rainbow Nozzle Extension Cord used back in for D3 D4 to power the pn to power aquamate3. That way u don't have to modify the electrial hose. only thing to make Rainbow Nozzle Extension Cord fit connect the aquamate3 need to cut the corners in order to connect AM3. i did to my cord to use the rainbow pn or rainmate to use my lux. Here picture of cord to cut the corners. link -> http://www.goodvac.com/Filter_Queen_Cord_Pigtail_p/fq-prt-2301000501.htm

Sooo....

Rainbowjoel, if I buy that aftermarket cord, strap it to my wet pickup hose, connect one end to the vacuum and one end to the AquaMate I should be fine? Should I be worried about overload or other electrical problems?

Rainbowjoel

I have the electrified hose for the SE & the non-electric Rainbow hose, but I also have the hose w/externally strapped cord for the SprayMate.

I don't think so be electrical problem. AM3 is Double Insulated like the pn. Yes with aftermarket cord, strap it to wet pickup hose, connect one end to the vacuum and one end to the AquaMate3 be fine. You don't have to worry about water going to electrical cord.
@floor-a-matic it's better like u did with AM1 with spraymate. Did u have spraymate connected to rainbow unit to power spraymate? that way you don't have modify the electrical handle hose since u have Nozzle Extension Cord right?

Yes, the SM works GREAT! :)

I find that the AM/SM works better than the Bissell Big Green Powerbrush 1680; although I need to have the water hose connected to faucet & smaller recovery tank.
