Club old-timers will remember former member Roger Proehl and his partner of 55 years, Charles Miller, both of Towson, Maryland. Charles passed away yesterday at age 86.

Anyone who ever met Charles knows what sweet and congenial man he was. (And the same goes for Roger.) Theirs was a very loving and kindly relationship.

May He Rest in Peace.

Sad news.

Hi Charles Richard, I met both Roger and Charles the same weekend I met Billy Lipman, you, and several others when I hosted the V.C.C.C. meeting in Naperville, Illinois in May of 93. Please send me all info you have. And let me know how I can contact Roger.

Hi Charles Richard, I think this needs to be in Misc. so the members can read it and respond.

Charles was indeed a sweet man, and was so supportive of Rogers interests. That in itself is rare In our club. And to live 55 years with a partner is extraordinary. I lost contact with the old gang years ago, but would like to contact Roger and personally send my condolences.

Far too many people are losing family in what should be a joyous time of the year, you included. My prayers are with you every night and I'm a mouse click away if you need me.

Roger and Charles

They were some of the first people I met in the VCCC, Roger and Charles along with Mike Rogers were in NC with me on 9-11, and we made numerous trips together to Myrtle Beach, I spoke with Roger and he is doing ok, If you don't know Roger or Billy Lippman you are really missing out , they are wonderful guys.Charles was one of the funniest, happiest people I ever knew, he will really be missed.

There were indeed some great guys.

Roger and his partner Charles, and your right about Billy, he was fantastic, and so funny. The only downside of that weekend was that Craig Long wasn't able to attend, he, like Billy were the life of any party. To have had them together would have been wild.

If you talk to Roger P. tell him my thoughts are with him. I know about long term relationships. I thought 10 years was great but to make it together for 55, that's awesome. Imagine the obstacles they had to overcome. Amazing.
