Ooh, thank you very much Narayan! This is excellent, but at £50 it's a litle pricey, an Electrolux z61a Handheld is a much better product with a motorised brushbar, risor visor, stretch hose, crevice tool and long cord.
This vacuum tempts me with that brushbar, and hose

The same model you find in the TV magazines has a suction only floor head but you can purchase an optional full size turbo nozzle seperatly for about £5.

True, however the stick vacuums have a rectangle port instead of a round one to put tools into them

Glad I could oblige. I rather like stick vacuums but we don't get as many here in the U.K anymore.

And the Z16A is a hand held, not a stick vacuum.

If I required a hand held with a brush bar, I'd still go for the very old fashioned looking but utterly reliable Dirt Devil Handy. I had two very many years ago and sold both of them off when I wasn't living in a place that had carpeted stairs.

Yes, The DD is also a good handheld vacuum, however The Electrolux is moch more powerful in terms of overall performance, Ps I was comparing the stick vacuum to the handheld Lu because they are both the same price, so was suggesting the better alternative to this product which is priced a little over the top

I can already foresee that brands are already bringing out corded stick vacs in light of the EU Regs. I know this has been commented on before, so it isn't just my observation.

The more mains powered stick vacs that make to the UK, the better - it may emphasize the need to own two vacuums in the home though and long term, may be more efficient than cordless stick vacs altogether, especially when battery replacements are not yet widely available.
