Mini meet

Wow... wish I could. I'm down in Bend though, and not able to manage the trip on short notice. I just discovered this forum, and had no idea there were this many people who appreciated these machines. Brings back some (mostly) fond memories.

Portland mini meet

Nice vacs!Looks like a great time in what is one the great parts of the country.Buffed Kirbys look very nice.Glad to see gloves and eye protection with buffer.
Evan-The question of the day (inspired by your shirt) is-When Leonard Nimoy started making good money with Star Trek (TV) what car(used, but wonderful) did he buy?

Mike, thanks for posting all those pictures and for coming to the mini meet! It was fun, and I'm glad everyone that came had a good time.

rugsucker, Thanks. I always use gloves and eye protection. I also normaly wear a dust mask, but I only had the polisher on for a couple minutes.  As for the car question, I have no idea. Wnat did he buy? Im curious as to what it is now.

a used 1964---

---Buick Riviera! One of the best of 60s cars.Actually designed by General Motors with the idea of making it a small Cadillac but Buick wanted and needed it more.Great styling(that let you know the 50s were OVER),4 bucket seats, console, etc. You can see on internet or when VCCCs D Olson is in OR I believe he has same year in blue.
'Spocks' was dark or black. He later had new 68 Riv and then as with many Americans in early 70s went to Mercedes Benz.--This from an autobiography by Nimoys son.Does have pic of Nimoy at studio in Star Trek uniform with Riv that son calls one of the "coolest images on the planet".Sorry but book is currently in a box somewhere and don't remember title but is great for Trekkies or any with interest in Hollywood,60s TV,etc.

More pics!

I just noticed this thread and thought I would add some more pics that I took while there. These are all photos of vacuums in Evan's collection.

Evan hosted a great event and it was fun to meet everyone who attended.
