What a beautiful Hoover. For me that was the last of the really great Hoovers. Did you notice the nice attachment case with double stretch hose, separate converter. Also note all the detail on the machine. The Hoover emblem on the handle and the detail on the bumper trim.
I have an advertisment that showed this cleaner on sale for $127.00. If you put that figure in the inflation calculator that would be $925.54 in 2007 money. NO WONDER the HOOVERS of today are so sorry. The only change I can see would have been a handle grip to protect the paint.
Does anyone remember how quiet those Hoovers were and how it would take a few seconds for the motor to come up to speed. NO SCREEMING motors or harsh plastic brushes on that machine!

I Remember It Well!

I have a 29 and was running it earlier this week. Like you said, they were fairly quiet machines and took a few seconds to come up to speed, but seems like they took even longer to wind DOWN when you shut them off!! They did an excellent job of cleaning and grooming the carpet, but the suction with attachments leaves something to be desired.
