Electrical Manufacturing Company of Cleveland Ohio was bought out by White Sewing Machine Company in the late 50s, 57 I think, they comtinued making vacuums until 1963,then were gone, The uprights were discontinued in the early 50s and they concentrated on tanks and canisters, most famous being the Strato Cleaner which used there own motor of VERY high amperage and was always listed in Consumer Reports as having the Highest suction of any cleaner tested, then there was the Aero and Dyno which used a Lamb motor, also they built machines for Wards, the most famous being the Aero cleaner derivative which had a pilot light on the front and rolled on steel ball bearings, noisy but effective, They built washers and dryers into the late 50s also, the washer used a novel system in that the fiberglas basket trembled, or wobbled , well you get the idea, Robert has one of them and its really something to see.
