POD 6/14/2016 Carpet Shampoo

I was looking at the advertisement and know there is exaggeration with the before and after lol. Wondering who shampoos their carpet or uses on of the hot water
"steam" carpet cleaners and how often? Which cleanings solutions have you experienced that work best? I have never shampooed and do use a Hoover Carpet machine having the 5 brushes and 2 brush speeds. I also possess a Kirby with the shampoo attachment that has never been used and it is at least 35 yrs old.

Years ago, I used a Hoover shampooer

with very warm water. Later, I've used a Hoover steamer, with their own detergent. I only have 1 room in the house w/ wall to wall.my room, with white Karastan. I have used the steamer on other people's carpets, aunt's carpeted porch, etc. Before the hardwood floors were refinished and sealed, I would use liquid Preen OR Johnson's Paste Wax,, then bugging them with a Hoover polisher, similar to the one in today's photo.
