Please forgive me asking a dumb question, but how true was that advertising? Could the Lewyt really suck dust through a rug or was it just because it was close to the edge of the rug in this picture? Inquiring minds would like to know.

The rugs in the 50's...

did not have sealed backings on them and were loosely woven, so it could well have been true
