OMG WOW
BTW I have a DC40. Got it from the carboot sale for £15 with a blown motor. A motor change is easy on this, I have experienced it and there's not many parts to take off either
OK ermm I can help you change the motor. I advise that you do what you want to take the motor out but if you get stuck I can help you. I changed my motor on the DC40 a few times and it's been good practice
Take cleaner head off. Filter out the ball. Take the hose out of the back off the ball. On the other side of the ball you need to turn that circular thing a bit and it should come out. Then there's a black ring thing. That u- screws. Now the other ball can be taken off. Not remove the yolk assembly with the screws you can see except for the one on the left side where there's a clear plastic cog on the inside. Remove the screws (two in the middle above' the suction tube thing and all the screws and stuff you can see).
When you get to the stage of removing the yolk assembly, the brush wiring loom can be see in black and white wires. Now remove the top of the ball thing. It just slides off downwards I think. Then remove the cover by the screws around it, there are a few hidden ones round it too. you can now see the PCB.
Take a pic of the PCB so uno where the wires go. Remove all the wires under the white plastic thing and undo the little screw to make it easier and to remove the PCB When the PCB is out, remove that case now with the screws round it. It's the tube that goes to the cyclone basically. After some screws later...
The motor aase is left! Remove that spring on the left side with just the screw. It's a small screw.
Now that black cover is the motor retainer with a seal in it. Remove those screws and boom! theres the motor XD
Oh and BTW be careful when dealing with the small plastic bit at the front to keep the machine from toppling over in use. that can break from it's pivoting points and mine broke.
I have the multi floor complete model, but your Animal is nicer good job! I assume it was free? Lucky you
BTW Dyson can fix the motor for free under guarantee if you have the receipt. If not, they cant do it I'm afraid
