Hi again. I like your Hoover Ranger. I have one but the lower cord hook is broke.
I also have a Red Delonghi that looks the same as your Philips U800.

Not often. The hose would have been tidier if it were the original, however it is a replacement and is a bit longer than the original should be, so it sticks out more.
I would cut it shorter, but if I did that, seeing as it isn't a stretchable hose, it would be useless!

I don't have a pic of the Delonghi. I have got a few move vacs since I put the current pics on the site. I keep meaning to update the site but it's just having the time. I move shop next week.

My U2812 is in good condition, but not as good as that. Jealousy is setting in now, haha.
As for the Ranger, it looks great, but I see it has an orange/red power switch... I've seen this on another couple of Rangers.
My power switch is white... Do you know why that is ?

Umm to me it looks like you had the same colour switch as mine and others out there.
It just looks faded from being in the sun.
Hope you don't keep any of your vacs in the direct sunlight...

Ohhh
I'm sure you will get your Hoover Turbopower 1000 looking new in no time.
Mine did not look that great when I first got mine.
A customer gave me it free before he took it to the local tip.
I now have both versions of the Turbopower 1000 and two Turbopower 2s the original basic navy colour one with bag light and the grey with orange trim Turbopower 2 with autosence. I also have a Turbopower 3 with autosence.
Must take pics of those at some point.
What vacs are you still after??

Hi again. The difference between the u2812 and u2814 apart from the colour is one has a normal paper bag and one has a perma bag.
Hoover 375s and 119s are quite common still so you will be able to get one of those with little problem.
It's when you want something that did not sell in great numbers and is quite rare.
Even worse when you had one years ago and gave it away.
I did that with my Spinney 800 and a Hoover Sensotronic 100....
Have you done anything like that yet?

I've never had a vintage cleaner I've gotten rid of, and I never will!
Even if I had to build a new room in my house for extra cleaners I would rather that than sell any!

Your lucky you have never got rid of anything you wish you had kept.
I know there is quite a few collectors out there who have got rid of various vacs we wish we had kept. Normally when you could do with some money from past experience and when you get short of space...

)I did think it was the U2814 too, but I couldn't be sure, as it could've been the U2812 and mine may have been removed at some point.
I prefer bags anyway, a lot simpler maintenance.
When it gets half full, take it out, put a new one in, and away you go again. Simples!

When I say I've never got rid of a cleaner I wish I hadn't, that is a bit of a lie...
Although I hated the HOOVER Dust Manager that died when the cord started to loose connection and it lost all suction, I sometimes think I should have kept it and fixed it up...
Oh well, no point dwelling on things!

Yep I agree with you about the bags.
Why I myself don't like the Hoover dustmanagers at least if you want another one you will be able to get one quite quickly.

I believe the extension wand is incorrect for the Philips too. That looks like an early 90's Electrolux tube. The original would've been chrome and the upholstery tool attached to the top of it.
My sister had the Delonghi version of that Philips in her uni house. It was an ok machine, but a little bit flimsy.

You know what ? I think you may be right! I do remember seeing an Electrolux at one time or another with a tube like that.
I doubt I'll ever get an original Philips tube for it now though, as I can barely even find a single set of belts for it, that's how rare it is these days.
I'll just have to live with it, but I will be buying a floor tool (not original obviously) soon for it so I can use the hose for more than just crevices.

As for it being flimsy, I can't say I agree with that... I actually thought when I bought it for the huge sum of £5 that is was quite a sturdy cleaner, and was made well.
Although, my Philips looks to have been a "back up" cleaner that never got used much, so perhaps your sister's Delonghi was more used and it got worn out.
Oh, and on a random note, I received my pack of belts yesterday that I ordered from eBay, and now the Philips works even better than before (I was using it with an old belt off my Turbopower which wasn't gripping the brush roll 100%), and that 800 Watt motor is so quiet and smooth!
For a 18 year old machine she works fantastically.
