Panasonic Performance Plus Platinum Canister Vacuum

This website has been awesome for gathering information about various vacuums. I wanted to share a vacuum that I own. Of all the vacuums I’ve owned, this one is by far the best. You can tell these were built very well.

We used to see these a lot as Kenmores in Sears stores - made by Panasonic for the retail chain. I wonder if the Panasonic PP versions were dealer exclusives that included any special upgrades or features not found in the Kenmore range.

It’s so sad that North Americans can no longer by Panasonic vacs here on our continent. Really the sad end of an era….

The Performance Plus and Performance Plus Platinum line were only sold through Panasonic dealers. They had stuff that you couldn't find under the Kenmore brand such as metal parts, TriForce motors, longer warranty, etc.

I'm familiar with the Kenmore label of these body styles but I've never seen one with a HEPA filter. Where is the filter located on it? I didn't see those start showing up until the more rounded body style took over.

It’s located in the bag compartment behind the bag. I’m including a pic for reference.

There is also a secondary filter (foam filter) that goes around the motor housing. I cleaned it today. See pic.
