Overpriced Eureka Dial-a-Nap Upright

Okay....I love Eureka vacs and all, but this is ridiculous:

$570 for a basic Eureka fan-first upright from the 1980's?

Someone must have placed the decimal point in the wrong spot - yeah, that's what must have happened. For a minute there, I thought I was losing my mind.

Because $570 is at least three times what it cost new, and it isn't remotely rare at all.

That looks like a Hoover Convertible! Didn't realize the two looked so similar. How in patents' name did that happen???

I just picked up a MINT 2042 from the 70s, with attachments & original bag, for $30 the other day to take up to the cottage. I was surprised how well it worked on our shag carpeting in the basement. Regarding the one on eBay, I think the sellers bag might be full....

Ah yes...the 1973 Eureka Dial-a-Nap 2042: the top-rated upright in the Consumer Reports tests of 1974...and a Best Buy too since it was relatively affordable too!
