The other day, I was looking on Amazon for vacuums just for fun, and noticed that the Hoover WindTunnel Max Bagged (UH30600), which is normally a $200 machine, has really gone up in price, to nearly $300!

I thought this was quite a ripoff for a budget vacuum on Amazon. Has anybody else become aware of this? I'd also like to know other people's thoughts on this particular Hoover, if they have owned one.

Interesting

I googled Windtunnel Maxx and the prices ranged from 139.00 to 219.00. Amazon isn't always the lowest price leader that they'd like you to think, their price 273.84!

I have an early US made windtunnel and I've always liked the way it performs. Heavy and loud right out of the box. I think a better build quality than the later models.

They were discontinued after a long long run, I'm surprised to see them back. They were very popular.
My Windtunnel is 25 yrs. old and I know that it sold for more than the lowest price I saw listed today of 139.00.

Nice that on these new WindTunnels you can switch the rollers off and on while vacuuming. Hard for me to say what a fair price would be for these new WT's especially with a price spread of around 140.00 amongst the different sellers!

This is just average Amazon behavior. Look up a 12 pack of soda and see how much it costs versus the store. If you save a price alert you might be able to find a used version of those vacuums at a steeply discounted price but they sell fast.

The red one is the old style. Hoover has done away with the rug/floor selector and replaced it with a fuzzy strip behind the brush roller. The black one is the new style.
