I just saw this on Ebay and am wondering if it is the original (1977) Electrolux upright. According to the product history brochure that model was yellow.

The first Upright came out with the Super J. It has the full bag indicator light next to the on/off switches. Yours matches the Olympia One. They moved the indicator light to the top rear of the motor housing. There was also a matching model to the Silverado as well as the Diamond Jubilee. Within one year of the launch of the DJ, the matching Heavy Duty upright as well as the matching "Special" model disappeared - replaced by the High Tech 2100 and the Discovery II.

No one agrees with me...BUT!

I think that is the best upright ever made, one of the very few that adjusts all four wheels so the nozzle stays exactly flat above the carpet.

Alex, Tom, and Hans,

I really appreciate your responses. I don't know about you, but to me the machine looks 'yellow' (gold)--could just be the camera. Guess I posted prematurely anyway, because the Ebay listing stated that it was a model 1451. Here is the product history brochure information:

Model 1363
1977-1979
(Gold)
1979-1982
(Tan)
Model 1451

I have 3 of them

I have 3 of those old guys I will admit the suction is pretty impressive. I have 2 of the Silverado models and one of the Olympia models. I mainly have them as part of the babies in my collection. They don't see much use. I may start using them though when I prevacuum carpet prior to cleaning.

Electrolux Upright

Tom is right on color match.
Hans is right that after they solved the clogging problem it had many great features. Not only the wheel adjustment but clean air with drop in 4 ply bag, easy attachment conversion,4 stage fan system and more. And unlike a current vac with 2 smooth belts on a clutch the Elux had 2 gear belts on a magnetic clutch that required almost NO attention. For proper service and repair they should have special tools and knowledge and skill helps.
