Call me crazy, but I think a metal fan case may sound good, but I think it could be worse. With everything else being plastic (including the upright locking tab) it would be be a mess. That would break instantly with a small amount of force. When turning the cleaner it could also pop/crack the internal molded plastic tray that the neck slides into.
I don’t know, just me, but I think its a bad idea.
