--Cadillac and more and MORE to come including Hoover 87,Rexair,Rainbow & MORE or save me the trouble and COME GET SOME VACS!!
To me the top 4 deluxe GE SWIVEL TOPS are--
-The Mo 815-The first of many that would be known for quality, long life motors, strong suction & full set of button lock attachments with the most attachments, large cardboard tool caddy & different switch.
Then the model system was changed to C and numbers starting at 1.By the time of the C-3 they had wheels(starting with removable dolly)great color styling and newer & fewer attachments with smaller cardboard caddy.
By the late 50s they added cordwinders, chrome, plastic caddy on vac and more.(There was also the LowBoy style but that would be a separate standard line.)Perhaps the best examples of these are the C-11s(one of which I have on EBay with an airtight! original hose)with an improved hang-on tool caddy, newer wands and attachments, unique switch button and the short lived floor brush insert for the rug nozzle.
The last deluxe GEs of about 1970 would add a 2 speed swicth and 3 button suction control.
In the 80s & 90s SHARP along with Panasonic had great clean air system uprights. My blue Sharp has all the quality and power but without extra features(not even a headlight)and remains very low mileage.
And a CRAFTSMAN polisher(same as Johnsons WAX had)with warranty sticker showing a purchase date of 1951.Still runs well even if the warranty may have expired.(Has Sears expired?Where is Roebuck??)
A CADILLAC (not for the garage) upright from Clements for parts or restore.
See at vintage vacuum or EBay seller leisurelady65.
