As of now and likely for the forseeable future - it has to be my Birtman Electric Co. Bee-Vac Model D. Introduced in 1918 as far as my research has taken me. The advertisement came from the New York Times - Oct. 27, 1918.

Husky, that ad and many others like it that sold used vacs mentioned the Bee Model D. While yours is called the "Bee model "D", I think that is a local thing. hmm, very strange. So there was two "Bee Model D's" and one mas made by Bissell? Or did Birtman make that one too?
Well the next newest ad I did find is from 1921 from the N. Shure Co., wholesaler.
But other than that I can't find any other ads thus far earlier than 1921.

It was made by Birtman, but collected in 1915 by Bissell. They made an electric upright vac in the 1910s, and collected their competitors, kinda like what Hoover did. GRPM has most of them, and will supply additional pics of any if you ask. That's why the pics of the Bee D are so detailed, the old ones stunk so I asked for follow up pics, as I have the motor to one and would like to build the wheel supports, etc.
The patent date on mine is July 23rd 1912, and there is a patent in my Google Patent thread(reply 2) showing the original version, most likely what was originally a Bee model A, if such a thing existed.

Those are some impressive machines. I've got nothing to compete with them (not that I'm tring). The oldest I've got are a pair of Electrolux 1205's from 1969-70 and a Royal Prince 501 in gray and red livery from probably the same era.

Not my oldest (by a Long shot), but one I show to every visitor to the Vacuum Museum - the Scott & Fetzer Wireless Vac U Ette.
