No, the Electrolux Boss started selling around 2000 but i'm sure this laser is around 1996, the time when Panasonics were as you said still churning out a better version of todays vac, hitachi were doing the powerhouses, Vax also sold uprights around this era, too & don't forget about Dysons, they released the Destijl around this time I think.
