My first Perfect canister arrived today. Just got around to unpacking it and attempting to try it out. But, its deader than a doornail. Not wanting to go thru the trouble of repacking and return shipping, waiting for another one, I took it apart. Multimeter on the contacts of the cord reel read nothing, so the cord real must be defective. What a pain.

Anybody else get a not so perfect cansiter today?

Good news is that it is an EXACT copy of the Silverado Delux. In talking it apart, I found the same exact everything as the Sliverado less the automatic feature. Wheels, metal casing, pretty much everything is the same. I did not go as far as the motor, but the motor cover and the cord reel look like exact copies. There is even a little hole in the top of the metal cylinder that the clear plastic tube goes from the the back of the bag chamber to the cord winder, there is just no tube and no little hole in the back of the bag chamber. There is a nipple on the cord winder to accept the plastic tube.

Anyway, just ranting and wanted to see if anybody else is having the same problem. I'll have to call Essco tomorrow morning to innitiate the return process.

Hey Andy-

That's a real shame... I wonder how many others have gotten similar "lemons"?

Do take some pictures of it (if you haven't boxed it back up); we're all sitting on the edge of our seats.

What a let-down receiving it not working. What's the scoop on this anyways, has Aerus sold or licensed the design patents for some much needed cash?

update...

I called Essco this morning and they were very helpful. They put me in touch with National, the "manufacturer" and National was very helpful. They are overnighting me a new machine, should arrive tomorrow, as well as return label for the defective one. From the sounds of things, the unit I got has not been the only one with this defect. Hopefully the next one will work. Once I get it, I'll take some pics and post them. Anything specific that anybody wants to see on it? Just let me know.

Being an old Lux fan, I'm interested in how this "copy cat" will turn out. Please keep us posted. Unfortunately yours is starting out as a bad experience. If it's a lamb motor, I would be interested in what model they are using.
