Evaluate your collection.
I think this is a personal question about your own collection that only you can answer. You need to figure out what the goal is of this accomplishment. Are you reducing in general to gain back floor space, are you trying to sell and make wallet heavier, etc.?
We all have interest in different things. As many have interest in antique heavy, metal, rare find machines or 1940's 50's etc. there is NO interest at all for those in my house or collection. The look and feel is not appealing to me.
Everyone has different desires for collection. For some like John Long, it is Hoover only and I believe the goal is to have one of just about every line produced by the company. Some users care about cleaning performance, some care about attachments, we're all different. My tendency is power nozzle canisters that are affordable, easy to service, consumer friendly and powerful, easy to maneuver. So enticing machines are Eureka, Hoover, Panasonics and a few others from 1980's to mid 2000's. I also get color oriented so a deep Navy Blue colored upright might entice me greatly. You won't find any pinks, purples, light yellows, flower patterns or wierd in my collection regardless of what machine is. I'd have to spray it paint it or something. My color preference alone eliminates several vintage Hoover Convertibles, several Sharks, some Kirbys and most Sebo Felix models. Kirby Sentria and Sentria II would need a different bag designs before showing up on this doorstep!!
I'm not a bagless fan and I've used several machines over the years through my cleaning business. If a certain model gave me a bad experience I could never have it in my collection. Not being a bagless fan means that any current day bagless machine, any Dyson, any Fantom won't be in my collection. Bad experience with Oreck uprights keeps those out of my collection. But I would definitely take in an Oreck power head canister such as the Dutch Tech, Quest Pro or commercial grade lines. I'm happy with their design.
The Eureka RotoMatic pictured below is a Googled image of Wishlist vacuum as it fits my desires very well with that awesome NAVY BLUE. The headlight looks great too and cleaning power is quite impressive!
