i always thought that vacuums with long hoses tend to lose suction than the shorter hose upright vacuum cleaners.for example if you used a stretch hose and you stretch it out all the way and then once you tried to vacuum something up the vacuum couldnt suck it up cause the vacuum didnt have that much suction. This isnt true is it. It was one of my thoughts.
