New toy for the Cleanmore!

Since I got this Kenmore Cleanmore carpet cleaner/wet dry vac a little while ago at an estate sale, I've been looking at getting some of the various attachments they came with over the years.

Until I joined this site several years ago, I never knew a dry pick up power nozzle was offered for these, and wondered if the Spraymate could be used as such. So naturally, I was on the lookout for one of these nozzles now that I have the machine.

These nozzles come on eBay fairly regularly, they are not rare at all. Many times just the nozzle is offered, in the original box. Many come with high BIN prices. This particular one I lucked out on because the starting bid was low, and I was the only bidder.

Though it has little to no wear it was evidently used due to some muck that had adhered to the brush area. With all that cleaned up it looks new.

And an interesting PN it is. No height adjustment, apparently not even floating brush adjustment. There'sno overload shutoff breaker either. There's no handle release pedal, but therevis a friction fit to keep it upright until you pull the handle back.

It does have a headlight and edge cleaning though. The big headlight lens looks cool and a clear motor. That black bottom panel unscrews to remove clogs, the top is a clamshell design.

I have heard the brushroll is similar to the Twin Fan uprights. Is it?

And now all connected! You see the very long cable runs up the wands and down the hose to plug into the outlet for the pump cord. The nozzle is double insulated but still has a grounded cord like the pump. The two clips on the wand you may notice have two slots. This is for the Spraymate's solution tube and power cord to clip. I don't have one but plan to get the matching one eventually.

There seem to be two colors these came in, this gray and blue version and later a white and green. Some white and green models have a textured headlight lens. Although not offered in the 80s during my color Cleanmore's era this gray version matches pretty close.

Of course to install it properly I could have removed the solution tube drom the hose and handle and neatly strapped the power nozzle cord to the hose.

To operate the power nozzle, you have to set the pump switch to high to start the brush. Sears mentions this can be used on hard floors if you turn the switch off. There's no instructions as to how to change the belt or bulb, a little odd given Sears often very informative manuals.

Also look gow tall the wands are compared to most canisters! All in all a nice accessory, it's cool to see a shop vac with a power nozzle!

If you weren't aware this nozzle was also used on some Kenmore and Singer canisters of the 80s and 90s and even some Oasis and Thermax machines of the late 90s.
