I got in the mail today a Sunbeam 1969 Deluxe Mixmaster in tan/sandlewood color. This one is very rare. After Sunbeam stopped production of pastels, this one was added with avocado and gold. It must not have sold well, because I have never seen one. IT has a copper front motor cover instead of chrome. IT is perfect shape and runs like new. I can't wait to bake something this weekend. I paid 34.00 for it.
Last week I bought a Sunbeam Le Chef food processor at Goodwill for7.00. It is also complete in mint condition.
Sunbeam used to be the top of the line brand of kitchen appliances. I will always hold them close to my heart because that was my mom's favorite brand along with GE.In 1973 I bought her a new MM100 gold mixer at the store I was working. She was thrilled as her old model 10 was still going but looked rough. She had just gotten new gold appliances and now she had the mixer to match.
I have all Kitchen Aid now, which work well, but I just love using the old ones. Such good memories..................
