Hi:

I just joined Vaccumland tonight and have a Hoover question to ask. What year was the Hoover Convertible Model 1076 produced? Is the base on this model metal?

Thanks, Bob.

Hi Bob and welcome! The 1076 was produced between 1971-1973, and yes, metal base and a very good example of a late model convertible. The colors were ceylon yellow hood with base and trim of light and medium taupe.

1076

Hi. New here also. I bought a 1076 with my paper route money in 1975. It was at a Jewelcor, the floor model, no box. It was $59.00 I still have the papers, etc. I then bought 1031 white tools for $10.00. It was my first purchase, still in MINT condition. Fantastic machine. Now, I have all 4 floral bag design cleaners. The 70's were awful, but probably HOOVER'S finest hour. Anyone agree?

Wait think I;m getting a flashback

Ooops
Just gas
Don't light a match

LOL

Seriously,

I remember those morsels of skittles colors.

Maybe we even had one??
So long ago!

I did rescue a 97 Convertible soft light out of the trash
It was clogged with I don't know what!
The entire thing
But I cleared it & it sucks like a pro now
but darn motor is just loud

I'm more partial to the refined sounds of the electrolux & royal....
but I digress the Hoover sure does suck well...
