Hello, although I’ve been a member of automaticwasher.org for a month or so, I just registered with vacuumland today and have a question to ask.

When my parents bought the first house I remember living in 1965 there was an old Eureka upright (at least I think it was an Eureka) that had been left in the broom closet in the pantry. As I remember it was all black and had almost a "streamlined" look to it. The case over the motor was I think Bakelite and the best way I can come up to describe it is that it looked almost like the outline of an old VW Bug. I'm thinking that it must have been from the 1940's to at least the very early 1950's...

My mother actually used the machine until the mid 70's when she bought a reconditioned Kirby which I believe was a Model 519, which by then was quite vintage itself.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody here might have a better idea about the model and vintage of the Eureka that I mentioned.

Thanks!

Kenb

Yes, that's it! I remember it being black, but that was so long ago. I sure wish I had that machine today...

I have done several searches on the net, but each time I got frustrated and gave up.

Thanks so much!

Ken, I have had two of those Eureka's over the past 30 years.
The first the armature was gone and could not find a replace-
ment for it. Then I found another on Ebay about 4 years ago. Bought it and it works great. Like to bring up from the basement to use, just for fun.
Keep looking there are some still out there !
Norm
