Hello all, new member based in Adelaide South Australia. Have been repairing and restoring vacuum cleaners for most of my life, initially started as a hobby in my teens as a way to earn some money and then ended up as a job while I worked at a secondhand dealer. Then ended up volunteering at a local charity shop where I would repair and restore the vacuum cleaners that were donated to them (many of them were donated because they weren't quite working right - usually blockages or broken belts etc) which meant that they could sell them for more and sell them quicker. Unsure of the total number I've rebuilt/onsold but it would be in the hundreds.
Currently working on rebuilding and restoring older Electrolux models, will post pictures of some of my work in another thread.
Current project has been this cool little Convac Mk7 service vacuum which was used by photocopier techs back in the 80's and 90's - they are anti-static and designed to handle fine dust and toner. Compact (450mm x 150mm x 220mm high) but very powerful as the motor seems similar to the Electrolux twin fan 700-800w units. Just waiting on a new handle and then it will live under my desk at work where I use it to clean dust and paper lint out of the copiers and plan printers.

Looking forward to contributing and sharing - thanks for having me on board!
