New Hoover European Purepower cylinder models

I had an 1800w Purepower upright for a brief while, it was pure something (think of the victorian definition of "pure" and you'll get my drift), but it wasn't power, that's for sure...

Noisy, whiny, dimmed the lights, didn't clean well, I should have left it by the bins and just took the cable off it (that later got fitted on my Junior U1104), it was just not good in any way, not to mention the belt had run off the pulley and melted one of the things that locked the thing in the upright position, so couldn't even stand up for itself...

The only redeeming feature was that it was bagged, rather than being one of the bagless versions of the same model...

Hoover Italia versus Hoover UK

I have noticed before that the UK doesn't get all of the Italian models.

The Purepower Autosense cylinder will probably never see the light of day in the UK.

Also, Hoover dishwashers. There have been models in the past, on sale in Italy, that have been the top of the range. We have to put up with models that are bastardised budget/mid-range ones.

And this applies to the new "Dynamic 3D" dishwashers. Italy has at least a half-dozen different models, we put up with three: one being an older "Nextra" model, the other two are a "Dynamic" model in black or white. What a lot of hooey!

I can't see much changing anytime soon.

The UK is left out of everything, we just make do, we sit and complain, but do nothing about it, so, manufacturers basically take the piss and offer us utter crap as TOL, we may have a lot of in-house manufacturing for the commercial and industrial markets, but for the domestic markets, we rely on other countries to supply us with goods, a lot of it from china...
