I recently purchased a home (built in 1959, one owner) with terrazzo floors throughout. This Breuer Tornado machine was used by the previous owner to take care of the floors. Does anyone have any information on this machine? Is this a floor buffer/polisher? Does the 1725 RPM put it in the category of a "high speed" buffer?

The terrazzo floors have some yellow spots from sun exposure and age of the current sealer - probably last stripped/sealed over 10-15 years ago. My plan is to use the machine along with a black machine pad (and a chemical stripper - step down) to strip and then seal (terraglaze) the terrazzo floors. Is the Breuer's RPM 1725 too much speed for this type of job? My research tells me that most floor pads are made for modern-day machines with 175-300 RPM.

More pictures below (I wasn't tech advanced enough to upload multiple pictures).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

What ou need to see is does is that the motor rpm or he pad drive rpm, To me its sounds like the motor rpm,Thats why its stamped on the ratting plate along with all the other motor info, On polishers the speed will normally be about 1000 rpm, the real bog ones can go to 2000rpm but because of the speed they have support wheels and guides.even normal high speed polishers normally have some sort of balancing wheel, either mounted on the front or in the middle of the machine, It looks more scrubber than high speed The easiest way to see is to test it.

Do you know how to drive these things ? there is a trick to it if you have never used one before, depending on which way the pad spins, its normally clock wise then lifting the handle up will make the machine go to the right, pushing down to the left, tilting to the left will make it go forward and to the right backwards, your machine looks like a smaller version and they are easy to control, however the bog 500-700 diameter machines are tricky and need the above mentioned method to move them easily
