The Fuller Brush vacuum cleaners are sold by Tacony, through different venues. The Fuller Brush Company private labels a line of cleaning products under the Riccar and Simplicity brand names as well, so it's a win-win for both companies. CleanMax is a Tacony brand name, used on a line of sourced (not US made) commercial vacuums, as well as a line of CleanMax ultralight commercial uprights (which ARE made in the USA).
Fuller Brush vacuums are an 'open' line, meaning vac shops who are not Simplicity or Riccar dealers can also order and sell Fuller Brush products. This machine is an opportunity for vac shops to have a bagless upright of decent quality, with easily obtainable repair parts, that's also easy to repair if needed. It really is a good upright at cleaning the carpets, and has great edge cleaning as well. There are many features to like - especially at its price point.
Simplicity, Riccar, and Maytag vacuums are a 'protected' line. In the case of Simplicity and Riccar vacuums, the dealer agrees to certain things with Tacony Corporation in order to carry those products - like not selling them on the internet, and maintaining a minimum selling price. This protects all the dealers, and makes carrying the line profitable and desirable. Maytag vacuums will also (in addition to Riccar and Simplicity dealers) be sold in appliance stores (in the USA we have "Maytag Stores" which carry the full Maytag line of major appliances). The vacuum cleaner should be displayed along with the dishwashers and washing machines.
The Fuller Brush upright is Tacony's first bagless upright cleaner. While it's not made in the USA, it does represent a break-through in two ways. Tacony dealers far and wide believe bagged vacuums are better than bagless. But they lose sales to the person who only wants bagless. It's now possible to say "Yes, I do carry bagless vacuums, let me show you one". If the customer is open to bagged vacuums, the dealer then shows and compares them - and hopefully sells the customer the best machine for that particular situation.
I'm very excited about being able to present the entire Fuller Brush lineup of vacuums. The Electric Broom is by far the best electric broom I've ever used. I actually have one of the bagless Fuller uprights in the museum that has been used for more than 8 months to clean the offices in the factory, as well as all the entrance mats. Hard use, 5 days a week. I'm proud of its ability to maintain performance and I'm satisfied as to its durability (consistent with its price). So I'm excited about the machine.
