National Foot Stool vacuum

A few weeks ago I couldnt belive my luck. I found this awesome vacuum. It was about a 100 km from me but it was a holiday so off we set.
I have a particular fondness of 70,s. I have built up a good collection of these peculiar machines.

For one they were years ahead of the rest of the world going bagless. Most of the cylimder machine emply some form of gear drive that cleanes the filter every time you pull out or retract the cord

The filter cleaning system that shakes off dirt every time the cord is unwound or rewound.
Its driven off a gear off the cord winder.
It is fairly comon on many Japanese cylinder vacuums across several different brands

Wow awesome machine, never seen something like that here in South Africa and with all the attachments! I like the description of how it cleans the filter

Such a cool looking machine. I wish we got these in the states.

Its very cool but the hose is seriously short.
