Mystery part?

Well, I have found 2 great hoovers here, by I have a problem. What is the little grey handle part for? I believe out is to hold a can of moth crystal, but I am unsure. Please someone tell me what this part is for. Jimjimmunster

That looks like it goes to a Kirby 505-515 series. You take off the regular handle, put that one on for the mattress cleaning or convert it for canister mode.

It's the portable handle for a Kirby, and was called the 'Lifter Grip.'
