I have been told that they were all built in the UK, although Jack has confirmed they were all designed in NC. In believe that the US had the 115 some months before we had the 119 here, but then, given the need for exports at that time, that is hardly surprising.


And I think you are spot on with the production aspects. Indeed I have often suspected that was why we had the 612 from 1950 till 1955 when the US 62 was on sale from about 1950(?) that the old moulds and tooling were shipped here from the USA - but that is just my idea
