You have a model 259. It is one of the few Royal metal uprights out there with a two-speed motor, the second (lower) speed best suited to low-pile carpeting and delicates.
love the bag design to. im a kirby guy but could not pass it up. he had 40 dollars on it but the last day of the garage sale he let me have it for 10 dollars.thanks for letting me no what model it is thank you.
You're welcome and I hope you enjoy your Royal. And as both I and Tom Gasko said, the motor bearings will need to be checked since this is quite an old machine.
I also wanted to say that I myself have two Royals: a model 880 dated February 1985 and a 5000NA dated December 1987. I purchased both of these for $25: the 5000NA was the first (working) Royal metal upright I ever owned, and I found this in July 2011 at the Red, White & Blue Thrift Store in Gladstone.
Believe it or not, back in 1994, at that same place, I also found a non-working Royal 801 from the early 1960s.
The 880 was purchased via a Craigslist ad. The seller of that machine originally wanted $50 but I made an offer to buy it for $25, which the seller accepted.
