Saturday, my bf and I stopped in a Salvation Army we normally don't go to. We were just walking around and all of the sudden out of a bin I spot the handle. He knew I was excited. I ran to the bin and there it was. He reached in and grabbed it. It looks brand new. There was no price on it though. We asked a girl on duty about a price and she told us we had to wait for the manager. Being the smart ass my bf is, he goes well we live an hour and a half away. She said ok well $49.99. I then spoke up and said nah we will pass but thanks. Well....today he went in because he happen to be up there and asked the manager about it. The manager said well it would be back here if it was still here. They did not see the vacuum so he figured it sold. As he was leaving the store, he spotted it in the front of the store. My bf grabbed it and hauled it back to the store and told the manager. The manager wrote a price on it. My bf had to look twice. He thought the manager put $79.99..nope it was $7.99. Needless to say I now own one.

i am nuts about that upright and its a big seller in my showroom....as far as putting a strange vac in your home and on your kitchen table is just asking for trouble.....any thing at the salvation army is there for a reason and it is not always a good one....i hope it came from a pet free home

As far as 'new' HOOVERS go,

I like it. BUT, I hate that the handle release pedal is on the RIGHT! EVERY HOOVER has it on the ledt. I've heard that people have snapped them thinking that it was there OR it was a friction release. At least the with is on top.All in all, not bad.
