"I see. It amazes me that people would rather buy a new vacuum than fix their old one up. Exactly 1 month ago I bought a Riccar 8900 from Salvation army that only needed a new bag. Now it's become one of my favorite machines!" I'm not at all surprised Ian. Everybody (well, almost everybody) these days feels the need to "Keep up with the Joneses", so to speak.
So if a bag is full or a belt snaps, that is an excuse (in their minds) to say, oh well, may as well replace the old thing!
I'm not saying everybody is like that, there are people who genuinely believe that, from the adverts, new Vacuum Cleaners are better than the old ones, so decide to replace theirs for something they think is better. Of course 9 times out of 10 it turns out to be not so, but by then it is too late.
What I'm trying to say is, people see old things for what they are, old, not for what they do or to the quality they do it.
Sufficiently confused ? So am I.
