Lux Platinum Smell
Hey Guys,
I had not used the Lux for several months so I was surprised about the smell. I had Miele machines I took home as trade ins that acted similarly as well. Since I picked it up a couple months ago on Craigslist, I have primarily used the Rainbow E2 Onyx with the new side-drive enhanced enhanced power nozzle with rotating corner brushes and LED. There is something to be said for taking out a new vacuum every time you vacuum and also the very low total cost of ownership to go with the excellent performance of the Rainbow. On a side note, a Veridian particle tester like the ones used at lux placed at the exhaust of the E2 Onyx runs about 100. The Platinum and Miele read zero so very good emissions but not perfect from allergy/asthmatic standpoint on the Rainbow. Did I mention the aromatherapy capabilities of the Rainbow?
I have and like the new Sebo D4. Especially the power nozzle and overall quality. I also like the cloth bags. The ET-1 is the best nozzle of the three and the bristles extend WAYYY below the base to make it self propelled and actually remove sand from the LL Bean MudHog door mat at the house. Forty feet of quality rubber cord on a rewind is to die for. Long hose, telescoping wand, swivel hose and conical hose. Just plain nice all the way around.
After the new year, you will see my Lux outfitted with the Orange Sebo ET-1, Lux E-rohr telescoping wand, attachments and braided remote control hose that controls the canister and power nozzle. The holdup has simply been the new extended elbow from Sebo for the Lux telescoping wand that now does not require the Sebo to Wessel/Lux adapter for the Lux Powerprof. A couple of friends are electrical engineers so this has been a quick trip back in time to 4th grade science class and is the configuration the unit should have shipped with in the first place. I should also be able to report on the Lux Mediclean cloth bags and Swissaroma for those who are interested. Perhaps I should have gone to engineering school because these changes make the Platinum close to perfect.
