Hi
Here is my latest Kirby project.
I Just washed the original genuine bag.

Once I've finished it I hope to put pics up as well.
Not sure when that is due to the weather.

So can you guess which model it is;-))

I have one that looks like this that you have.
I guessed on the Model I have as I could not find any label that was still on the unit.
It ran great after I went through it and checked it all out, then the motor started to bog down and I could smell some burnt odor so I shut it down to see if I had something caught in the impeller.
I could not see anything physically obvious.

Do you know where can I find out how to get into the motor and check what's apparent in there ?
Where could I get parts if I did ?
I've tried but I can't see a place to crack it open.
Appreciate some help if you have it.

Hi

Hi,
In order to get in to it your best taking your best taken off the main handle,bag/emtor and main head.

Take off the front wheels by taking off the wheel axle and metal front that holds the safty switch.
Once they have been removed unscrew the screws on the fan case and remove it carefully. It might be stiff to remove but becareful not to crack the fan chamber.

Once fan chanber removed you can use a lockin pin to lock the armature by inserting it through the air vent.
It locks in to a hole in the armature by the cooling fan.

Once its locked you can unscrew the fan.

Once the fan is off you can unscrew the 4 screws under it.

Take the carbon bushes out by unscrewing the black srews at the other end of the motor unit.

Once the carbons are out you can take the plate behind the fan off to reveal the armature.

You should be able to inspect the motor then.

Hope this helps.

Ebay is a good source for parts or a kirby service centre.

But older C/R series are harder to get than the 505 and newier models.

Hope it goes ok.

Let me know how things go.

James
