My Hoover Centenary Find...

I've known about the existence of this cleaner for a couple of years, but only recently got her home - ain't she a beauty?

What if I told you this cleaner was driven by me across the UK - a trip of 650 odd miles! Would you say I was losing the plot, maybe?

I'd better explain...

This cleaner, a Hoover Freedom S4070 built in June 1979, was actually my Grandma's. I remember unboxing it when it was new, and going through the instructions. I think it was used until the 1990s, when the hose finally gave out, and it was put in the attic.

My Grandma died last year, and one of my Aunties put it aside for me when the house was cleared. I'm very glad she did, as I have fond memories of it. The '75' stickers on it were put on by me as a kid, as I thought that's when the model dated from! I was about 3 years out, but hey! I was only five...

I'm now planning to restore her, she's filthy but unblemished, time to look for motor bearings! So nice to have a family heirloom like this though...
