Today was a lucky day for me in the shop, we had a good day and I also aquired 3 new toys.

A customer traded in this lovely Red ( my favorite colour) Cat& dog miele, we have had many in for repair and have sold a few but this is the first one I'm keeping.Cause its RED
Tomorrow I'll take it to the workshop for to sand out all the scratches and buff it till new

Lucky you

I got my first Miele only a few months ago at a thrift store, the white Allervac model, and I have to say I really do like it. I use it almost everyday because it's so quiet.

Its so quiet but the bags are so expensive , I'm going o use in in our office because its quiet . I prefer my dyson for home as we have allot of pets and I can't handle pet hair any were so we vacuum all day we actually have 3 dysons in our home , we had an Electrolux oxy 3 before to use in the one side of the house but the bags got full really fast from pet fur and are also expensive to keep replacing

What really sucs ( or doesn't ) is that Outside of the USA most canisters come with straight suction floor tools and if you are lucky a air driven turbo tool, which mine has. I much prefer the heavy duty ones found on USA models

The turbo nozzle that I got with my miele is absolutely useless, I cleaned it out, made sure everything was all working (though I'm less than impressed with the plastic "bearings" they used for the brushroll), and the thing can't even clean loose cat fur off the carpet... :S

My previous and briefly owned Miele, an S147, had a PN on it, and to be honest, that wasn't that much better, it was essentially the turbo nozzle like above but with an electric motor, definitely not worth the money they ask for on their site in my opinion...

The biggest probelem with Miele here is that they cost more to fix than to buy a new one.

We sell so many dysons to miele customers as if they do need repair the parts are well priced.

I had a customer who's miele needed a hose , metal wand and floor tool for her miele. just those parts came to twice as much a s a new miele

I've said it before, but, Miele are to Sebo what BMW is to Mercedes, in other words, overpriced cheap stuff, rather than overpriced quality stuff... :&#92

I drive a mercedes they are much cheaper to maintain than a BMW and they hardly need it .

I don't think that sebo is any better than Miele. a sebo here costs Upwards of £700.00 and a miele about half of that I don't think they are that well built for the price . we repair allot of them especially G1 and 370's and x4's the prices of the parts are crazy.
They are always loose around the mounting points and the hoses never last.
The handle release pedel snaps off all the time.
i bought a box of 100 of these as I was sick of waiting for them on back order all the time.
they are better than most of the cheaper brands but I wouldn't put them higher than miele I think they are on a par

i do like the felix though and it seems much better made. I would like to sell those in my shop if they can keep the price reasonable.

I think the difference between Sebo & Miele is airflow, the pre & post motor filters on a Sebo are massive in comparison to a Miele, so they don't burn out the motors as fast as a miele does, and of course the wider tubing is justified on a Sebo than it is on a miele cos a Sebo has the airflow to go with it... :)

Yes Sebo has a few flaws with their products (especially the X series with the automatic height adjustment), but, what vacuum manufacturer doesn't? Miele's main flaws are the tiny filters and the change purses they call bags, poor filtration and poor airflow don't make a quality vacuum cleaner... :&#92

Here in the UK, a new Sebo would set you back about £300-400, which is on par with the likes of Miele and Dyson, but at least with the Sebo, you can get the option of a decent and quality power nozzle, unlike other European cylinder vac manufacturers (Miele, Dyson, Numatic, Electrolux, etc.)... :)

But personally, I have a Tristar CXL, it's not as powerful as a Sebo, but it's reliable and a lot more powerful than my Miele S316i (aka, "The Red Baron") in it's standard form, I just keep the miele cos I can't be bothered buying a Numatic to use as a shop vac... :P
