This is the first time I opened up a modern filter queen and was supprised on what was in it. I am old fashion and expect a vacuum to have a basic electrical system all they need is a power supply a switch and from there go to the power nozzle outlet than to the motor. The filter queens I'm use too have very little plastic on them and haves two stage motor in them. This is a great daily driver because it's lightweight but it's little one stage motor is getting a little buzzy but I have a high powerd one stage Domel motor for it.

Lion, I feel your pain. I have a newer KM progressive canister that suddenly became possessed. I would try to start itself, wouldn't shut off, ran at half speed and other odd things. I decided to open it up and there was a circuit board! Geez, it was like, really, a circuit board in a friggin vacuum?! I replaced it and all is well but I really must be getting old.
