This is my eureka princess. Model 730. I have no idea how old it actually is but I know it's old. My boyfriend's grandma gave it to us and her mom had given it to her. It still works well though. This was the only vacuum we had for a while when we first moved into our house. It's loud for a canister. The motor isn't bad and it runs smoothly, it just makes a lot of noise compared to modern canisters that sound like rushing air. Does anyone know why these vacuums had the short straight metal end on the hose instead of a long curved one? I really hated that as it made it a little awkward to use on the carpets and floors.

I don't believe that is the correct hose for that machine. That hose appears to be a hose for the cheaper models. My guess is it is a replacement for the cloth hose that may have came with the machine originally.
