I brought two machines to the convention this year after not having rebuilt one for over two years. The first one is this Westinghouse Mobile-Speed gotten from the NC57 pile. It was begging to be rebuilt. Pretty standard as far as body work and paint was concerned, but I rebuilt the tools this time too, and I have never had to paint plastic. I am proudest most of the decal. I'll post another thread about this, but it came out rather well.

Lux model "S". A generous gift last year from Mr. Fred Nelson. Pretty standard here too - except from the get-go, I had problems with the paint and had to re-do it a few times. Even with that, I had a towel wrapped around it for transport to the convention, and the heat and towel wrinkled the UN-cured paint under the rear motor cover. I'll fix it at a later date.

Ewwwwwwwww

Charles - a truly terrifying item. I would never let it into my house. It LOOKS like it must smell bad........

Rick - I cannot BELIEVE that beautiful Westinghouse. I had never seen one up close. That is just stupendous. I had heard rumors of your great rebuilding skills, and this is sure a testament to them. Absolutely fantastic. The Electrolux E is fantastic, too. You really have a great skill.

Are there 2 different versions of the Mobile-Speed? Two color sets?

I can attest first hand after seeing and using these machines that the pictures don't really do them justice! I doubt that either looked this good new out of the box. The best part is that they both run great! Fantastic job Rick!

Rick,

You should be proud...a new hair style...and that vacuum...

I could not beleive the difference...seeing the pictures of before and after...you are truly an artist!!!

Rick,
Your restoration work is incredible.
I absolutely love your attention to detail.
I think Terry is right, they look better than when brand new.
Your work is very inspirational.
Thanks for sharing.
Really sorry I missed convention this year .... looks like everyone had a fantastic time!

Charles

I've seen Rick's work where he restore to brand-new condition a machine worse than that AF! Rick - some pictures? Wasn't it a Westinghouse tank?
