VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Filter Queen Majestic 85th Anniversary costs a whopping $3000.00!

I just bought another TriStar EXL for only $1.00 but it doesn't have the dusting, crevice & upholstery tools & PN; only the hose, wands, tool adaptor & bare floor brush.

Are TriStar vacuums quickly losing value lately?  I'm refering to the A101 Series (EXL, MG1, MG2, MG3 & CS Series)  Why are folks getting rid of those newer style TriStars or selling them so cheap?

All I know is that a 1999 TriStar EXL is EXACTLY the same cleaner as a 2013 TriStar CS; although the actual model # is A101 whether it's a 1999 model (EXL) a 2002 model (MG1) a 2004 model (MG2) a 2008 model (MG3) or a 2012 model (CS)  Whenever the A101 style TriStar comes into my shop for repair, I replace the vacuum motor that was originally in it with a new Ametek #115923 high-performance motor; which beats most vacuums' suction power & pulls an amazing 110"+ water lift.

This is a pic of the Ametek #115923 high-performance 2-stage motor that I put on every TriStar A101 vacuum.

And I also replace the old style brush roller with a double-helix brush roller; which boosts grooming performance.  Any TriStar A101 Series vacuum from my shop has unbeatable performance, both suction-wise & grooming-wise.

In addition to the HP vacuum motor & double-helix brush roller, I also install a HEPA motor filter & micro-lined paper bag (inside cloth bag) for unbeatable filtration.
